Kits book coverIt’s Appetite for Health’s last cookbook giveaway for National Nutrition Month—get in on the action! The “Everyday Gluten-Free Slow Cooking” cookbook is co-authored by moi. (Yes, I’m tooting my own horn here—full disclosure!)

Oh, and if you don’t go gluten-free, that’s ok—this cookbook is for everyone who wants more slow-cooker recipe ideas that taste great, are easy and don’t require a pantry full of onion soup mix! If you want to win one of 10 copies of this hot-off-the-presses cookbook (a $23 value), check out the entry details below.

If you follow a gluten free lifestyle—or even if you don’t—this book is for those who want to make tasty food in their slow cookers. Slow cooking can simplify mealtime when you know a busy day is ahead—who doesn’t like coming home to tempting aromas wafting through the house, and knowing that all the major cooking has been done for you?

Everyday Gluten-Free Slow Cooking offers 140 recipes ranging from delicious family-friendly meals to fun party food to great brown-bag snacks. Imaginative, yet easy recipes incorporate fresh vegetables, whole grains, and everyday grocer store items. And, because many people follow both a gluten free and dairy free diet, there are over 100 recipes that are either dairy-free or can be easily prepared dairy-free with a few simple substitutions. A comprehensive vegetarian chapter, and a chapter with non-slow cooked sides are also included. Whether it’s Texas BBQ Brisket, Greek Chicken with Tomatoes, Rice, Feta and Olives, or Vanilla Poached Pears, we think you’ll find plenty of recipes to tempt, nourish and delight everyone at your table! AFH has even featured one of our book’s recipes on the site—check it out. (Oh, to help you put a face with the name, that’s me on the left, with my co-author, Kim Mayone.)

To win one of 10 copies of the new book, “Everyday Gluten-Free Slow Cooking” (generously donated by our fabu publisher, Sterling), you’ll need to “Like” AFH on Facebook  and “Like” Everyday Gluten-Free Slow Cooking on Facebook, too.  Then, leave us a comment below to let us know what your best slow cooked dish is (it’s ok if it isn’t gluten-free!). This contest is open to residents of North America only, please.

All AFH terms and conditions apply.

My wife is struggling to find out if she is celiac or gluten intolerant or has other allergies. She has taken tests and undergone procedures with inconclusive results. She has tried to avoid gluten products and it seems to help. Our favorite slow cooker meal is chili.

My family loves to use the slow-cooker to make the Vietnamese beef noodle soup broth with the bones, tribe, grilled gingers and onions, white daikon radish and spices. The house would smell so good and the broth comes out so clear. I like slow cooker recipes because they are a time and money saver. Your book sounds so interesting! :o)
