About Us

We are nutrition and marketing experts who provide fresh insights to help our clients navigate the ever-changing nutrition science and communications landscape. We use our extensive background and knowledge to provide impactful content, media relations, influencer engagement and crisis communications.

Julie Upton, MS, RD, CSSD

Julie Upton, MS, RD, is a nutrition communications specialist with more than 15 years of experience in food and beverage marketing. She is an expert in revealing evidence-based brand differentiators using scientific research; food policy; marketing data; and influencer and consumer insights. She has provided strategic nutrition communications counsel to food and beverage brands from niche start-ups to legacy CPGs.

She has worked on-staff or as a consultant to many of the leading public relations firms, including Porter-Novelli, Ogilvy, Fleishman-Hillard, Ketchum, Pollock and Golin.

She has experience in providing counsel on nutrient content and other labeling claims; regulatory affairs; crisis communications; influencer outreach and key message development. As a nationally-recognized journalist, author and on-air nutrition talent, she has extensive contacts, as well as an in-depth understanding of the old and new media landscapes

Julie received her master’s in nutrition communications from Boston University and a Bachelor’s of Science from Michigan State University in Nutrition. Her dietetic internship was completed at Harvard Medical School-Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital.

Katherine Brooking, MS, RD

Katherine Brooking MS, RD Katherine Brooking MS, RD brings over a decade of nutrition communications and strategy experience and a background in business to help food and beverage companies expand their customer base and execute multi-level marketing programs. Her experience in both business development and nutrition science provides a unique perspective for brands seeking to leverage credible nutrition messaging and strategic alliances to meet business objectives.

Katherine received her master’s in nutrition science from Columbia University. She also holds a master’s degree from Columbia’s School for International and Public Affairs. Prior to launching her career in nutrition consulting, she worked for JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs.
